Dr. Alter is board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hematology.
Dr. Alter received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. He completed his residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center and received his fellowship training in hematology/oncology at New York University Medical Center.
Dr. Alter is the Chairman of the Transfusion Committee at St. Clare’s Hospital, and a member of the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). The ACP is a national organization of internists, who specialize in the diagnosis, treatment, and care of adults. The ASCO is a professional organization representing physicians of all oncology subspecialties who care for people with cancer.
