In addition to being a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the doctor is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Lee County Medical Society.
Furthermore, she is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, which is an independent, non-profit organization responsible for certifying ophthalmologists in the United States of America.

With a focus on philanthropic efforts, she went on a medical mission trip to Chiapas, Mexico with Dr. Delmar Caldwell in December of 2009, as part of a four-surgeon team that performed over 80 surgeries for indigent patients in three days.
