(YorkPedia Editorial):- Philadelphia, Mar 17, 2020 (Issuewire.com) – One of the precursors of NeoSoul in the late 90s, London aka Billy London releases “Run Away”.
London aka Billy London introduces “The Ballad of Billy London,” an album in twelve parts, released one single each month in 2020.
In February 2020, London released two singles from this much talked about the project, “Save Our Love (Pull The Plug)“ and “Ugly Beautiful Memories“. The next single in the series “Run Way” is out now.
Featuring fellow Philly native Julez Suzin, “Run Way“ is an energetic four on the floor romp that fuses Julez Suzin’s soulful melodies with London’s contemporary house music experimentations. The result is infectious.
London chose to return to his Philadelphia Roots to complete “The Ballad of Billy London”. “I got a room inside Studio 609 in Center City,” says London. “I had the chance to connect with some unbelievable talent that would just walk in off the street. I shared my room with Anthony Bell and Dre and Vidal were in the “A” Room. They always had somebody famous rolling through. It was an amazing journey. Being around those guys had an indelible influence on my sound.”
London‘s musical roots go deep in Philadelphia. His father Samuel London Evans managed the Philadelphia Chamber Orchestra Society and the Philadelphia Coffee Concerts Committee for over 30 years. “My father’s friends would come by the studio to visit,” says London. “Meeting Kenny Gamble was a highlight for me. I guess you haven’t arrived in Philly until Kenny says you’re OK. Through Kenny, I got to work with Bruce Hawes and Charles Simons which was life-changing.”
London has engaged in many musical explorations including founding Blisstunes Recording Corp., recording and mixing records for “A” list label talent, producing music for film and TV, and working in artist development. Now, he is back and looking to introduce the world to new music and artists, sharing his personal journey along the way. As a producer, writer, and engineer, London played a major role in the early careers of Sevyn Streeter, Jhene, Marques Houston, Omarion, and B2K. A highlight of his career was working with Chaka Khan for almost two years. Get more information about London aka Billy London Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
