At present, he serves as an attending physician at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Pennsylvania.

A part of Main Line Health, Bryn Mawr Hospital is a 287-bed, not-for-profit, acute-care teaching hospital dedicated to helping the community stay well ahead on the path to lifelong health. It offers specialized centers and programs, including a Comprehensive Breast Center, Bariatrics Center, Orthopedic Center, Outpatient Imaging Center, Cancer Center, TMS Center for depression, Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and a partnership with Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, which brings specialized pediatric care to the hospital.

A 1982 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. Gross went on to complete his internship at Bryn Mawr Hospital. This was followed by a residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania. 

In order to stay up to date in his field, he remains a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Astronomical Society, the American College of Surgeons, the Pennsylvania Medical Society, the Montgomery County Medical Society, the Philadelphia County Medical Society, the Medical Club of Philadelphia, and the Ophthalmic Club of Philadelphia.

Dedicated to his profession, the doctor is board-certified in ophthalmology by the American Board of Ophthalmology, whose mission is to serve the public by improving the quality of ophthalmic practice through a process of certification and Maintenance of Certification that fosters excellence and encourages continual learning. He is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.

Ophthalmology is a branch of medicine and surgery, which deals with the diagnosis and treatment of eye disorders. Ophthalmologists are experts in the diseases, functions, and anatomy of the eye. They may provide routine care such as vision testing, as well as prescribe and fit eyeglasses or contact lenses. However, ophthalmologists are also surgeons.
