Subsequent to the completion of her training, tDr. McGhie acquired her board certification in internal medicine and the subspecialty of infectious disease medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine. The American Board of Internal Medicine is a 501 nonprofit, self-appointed physician-evaluation organization that certifies physicians practicing internal medicine and its subspecialties.
Infectious disease is a medical specialty dealing with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of infections.
