Among his other roles, he has hospital admitting privileges at Folsom Medical Offices, Rancho Cordova Medical Offices, and Roseville Medical Center.

Anesthesiology is the medical specialty concerned with the total perioperative care of patients before, during, and after surgery. It encompasses anesthesia, intensive care medicine, critical emergency medicine, and pain medicine. Anesthesiologists have the primary responsibility of monitoring the patient’s vital signs during surgery. In addition to basic measurements such as pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, they measure the patient’s respiration.

With years of experience in his field, Dr. Villena Jr. has been the recipient of the KCOM Academic Scholarship, SJSU Dean’s List, Golden Key Honor Society, KCOM Anatomy Award, Army Commendation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Operation Iraqi Freedom Ribbon, Nato Ribbon, Kosovo Campaign Ribbon, and two Overseas Tour Ribbons.

Originally from the Philippines, he grew up in San Francisco. Most of his 5 siblings and his parents still live in the East Bay and South Bay. He has two beautiful daughters, a son, and another daughter on the way. He loves to travel. He has been to several European countries as well as Central and South America. He has also taken his children to Singapore and Hong Kong. He likes being outdoors and doing outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, photography, and backpacking. His favorite sports are basketball and volleyball. He has played in several leagues both in school and in the community in his life. He is also an avid Forty-Niners, Giants, and DUBS fan growing up in San Francisco.
