World Padel Tour Mexico Open 2021 Kicks Off

(YorkPedia Editorial):- Distrito Federal, Mexico Dec 4, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – Under the slogan “Together we come back stronger”, World Padel Tour Mexico Open 2021 kicks off, which will be conducted with the participation of the worldwide best pairs in the male category. The venue for the event will be the Centro Libanés, Unidad Alfredo “Fredy” Atala in Mexico City, from December 1 to 5.

After a mandatory break due to global health risks from COVID-19, this tournament is returning as the last international event, heading to the Master that is the grand final. Therefore, this is the most relevant day for players because they come for their last points to qualify for the Master.

The World Padel Tour Mexico Open 2021 will also have a women’s exhibition consisting of a match of two Mexican female couples and a children’s clinic that will be free for children on the final day, on Sunday, December 5. In all cases, the organization will comply with the established health regulations to care for all attendees and competitors’ health.  

Thus, directly from Buenos Aires tournament, the 28 male couples will arrive in Mexico for the competition. Mexicans Antonio Zama and Sebastián Lerdo de Tejada; as well as Ricardo Martínez and Pablo Acevedo will be representing our country; while the international participating players are: Marc Quílez Palleja and Toni Bueno Gómez; José Rico Dasi and Francisco Javier Leal Pérez; Miguel Yanguas Diez and Miguel Lamperti; Víctor Ruiz Remedios and Eduardo Alonso Chillarón; Alejandro Galán Romo and Juan Lebrón Chincoa; Jerónimo González Luque and Javier Rico Dasi; Lucas Bergamini and Jorge Ruiz Gutiérrez; Javier Martínez Vázquez and Íñigo Zaratiegui Pedrosa; Salvador Oria Ortega and Alejandro Arroyo Albert; Fernando Javier Belasteguín Ferrández and Arturo Coello Manso.

To celebrate the first 50 years of its existence, the opening of the first World Paddle Museum will take place in the World Padel Tour Mexico Open 2021. This space will exhibit more than 40 pieces between shovels, t-shirts, trophies, and memorabilia with the feats of the historical figures of this sport and will show the legacy of the Mexican sport that originated in Acapulco, Guerrero, in the 70s.

“This is the first itinerant show of its kind, where the history about this Mexican discipline that has won fans worldwide so much that only in Spain is the second most practiced sport after football, will be told, step by step”, said Notary Ignacio Soto Borja, World Padel Tour Mexico’s Ambassador.

At the exhibition, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the development of the sport over five decades and will appreciate the first game paddles and how they have evolved. Some personalities that stand out in the museum are: Horacio Álvarez Clementi, Ricardo Cano, Roger “Pequeño” Quintín, Diógenes de Urquiza, Javier Maquirriaín, among others, who are part of a select list of players who gave prestige to Padel with their triumphs.

The WPT Mexico Open 2021 will also be broadcast for the first time via streaming through Claro Sports and Marca Claro multi-platform reaching 17 countries in Latin America. The transmission will cover from the round of 16 starting on Thursday, the quarter-finals taking place on Friday, and the semi-final and final on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

Through its signal, Claro Sports will give broad TV exposure, which shows that paddle has gained popularity because it promotes healthy competition and instills values such as fraternity, discipline, humility, and self-control.
