New York City, Jan 13, 2022 (Issuewire.com) – A determined hematologist-oncologist with an interest in the management of all cancers, including blood disorders, Dr. Chandrani serves as an attending physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine/Oncology within the Division of Oncology/Hematology at NYC Health + Hospitals / Elmhurst. She also serves as a Cancer Liaison Physician to the hospital, appointed by Cancer on Commission.

Following this, she relocated to the United Kingdom where she conducted her fellowship in obstetrics & gynecology at Walsgrave Hospital and Good Hope Hospital. Upon completing her fellowship in 1995, she relocated to the United States where she completed her internship and residency in internal medicine, and her fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Cabrini Medical Center in 1998 and 2001, respectively.
Subsequent to her education, the doctor attained board certification in hematology, medical oncology, and internal medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). The ABIM is a physician-led, non-profit, independent evaluation organization driven by doctors who want to achieve higher standards for better care in a rapidly changing world.
Hematology is the branch of medicine concerned with the study of the cause, prognosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases related to blood. Gianaris (November 2015), and a Certificate of Appreciation by the CEO and Medical Director of NYC Health + Hospitals / Elmhurst and the Cancer Committee (June 2017).
Her publications include “Minor Histocompatibility Antigen and Prevalence of Graft Versus Disease in Patients with Allogeneic BMT”, submitted for the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunocytogenetics, as well as Complete Resolution of Low-Grade Ocular Lymphoma with Fludarabine, published in Blood Journal as abstract in November 1999.
Happily married, Dr. Chandrani and her husband, Dr. Ravichandra, have a son, Arjun, and twin daughters, Anjali and Aishwarya. In her free time, she enjoys working out, cooking, and traveling. She is fluent in both English and Hindi.
