Academically, Dr. Pfau began his medical training at Miami University of Ohio, receiving a bachelor’s degree. He attained his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine in 1991, receiving honors in pediatrics, and remained in Columbus to serve his pediatric residency at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. He also performed sub-specialty work in pediatric gastroenterology at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital where he presented national research on vomiting syndromes in children.
Recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), he is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP). The mission of the ABP is to advance child health by certifying pediatricians who meet standards of excellence and are committed to continuous learning and improvement.
Pediatrics is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, and adolescents. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends people be under pediatric care up to the age of 21. Pediatricians provide medical care to people ranging in age from newborns to young adults.
