Los Angeles, Feb 7, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – The wildly popular sitcom Mark’s Place could be set for a comeback. Viewing audiences have enjoyed the off-the-wall plot of the show and the bizarre characters. Much of the overwhelmingly-positive audience responses are largely due to the growing popularity of its co-star, Steven Ciceron (www.stevenciceron.com) who plays the role of Blake Pennington. In fact, many of Ciceron’s increasing legions of fans, warmly refer to themselves as “Blakies”.
The first season of Mark’s Place was released on Amazon Prime in 2019. The plot of Mark’s Place follows an Italian hitman from Chicago who relocates with the help of The Witness Protection Program to Palm Springs to open up an Irish Pub, which is basically a dive bar. Instructed to keep a low profile, the hit man finds himself having a hard time shaking his mob ways. Can the hitman stay out of trouble?….. I don’t think so
As the character Blake Pennington, the versatile actor Ciceron plays the part of Maître d’ hotel in the dive bar, who is also a frustrated down-on-his-luck actor. Ciceron provides comic relief in how he tries to make a lowlife bar an upscale French Restaurant. At the same time, Ciceron is cast as an off-kilter, desperate actor who will do ANYTHING for a part in a major motion picture. Comedic antics ensue with the complexity of the role that Ciceron portrays. Ciceron states that he enjoys playing the role of Blake because it also gives him a medium to express some creativity and improve his skills.
Ciceron is an award-winning actor who has won three CV Indie Film Awards for Best Actor in an Independent Film, and several Best Actor Awards, nominations, and accolades at International Film Festivals.
Unfortunately, the pandemic hit, and production on Mark’s Place was halted in 2020. Ciceron stated that he would be happy to reprise his role as Blake Pennington in Mark’s place, but that he has no knowledge if Mark’s Place will ever start production again. He referred to the opportunity to film on this show again with a famous Hollywood quote saying, “as Daddy said, life is 95 percent anticipation” by Gloria Swanson.
As for Ciceron’s fans, the buzz is in the air for a second season on Amazon Prime… Let’s hope so….until then, we must wait in anticipation.
