Volcano near Tokyo erupts for the first time in 4 years, alert level raised to three out of five

Mount Asama, almost 90 miles (140 kilometers) away from the capital of Japan, erupted overnight for the first time in 4 years. The eruption threw smoke and ash almost 2 kilometers into the sky.
