Bharatiya Janata Party distance itself from Prime Minister Narendra Modi biopic. However, the BJP said that they support the release of Vivek Oberoi’s ‘PM Narendra Modi’ as a ban it will restrain the right to the freedom of speech and expression.
Due to the oppositions demand the film will be released after the Lok Sabha election. An allegation was brought that the movie was political misinformation and in the destruction of the model code of conduct. On April 1st the Election Commission had sought a response from BJP.
BJP in reply to Election Commission denied any sorts of link with the PM Narendra Modi biopic and they said that they still support the release of this movie. They even informed that there is no content related to the elections in the film which they can ban under any sorts of model code of conduct.
Before EC has already issued a notice to the creators of this biopic and a copy was also sent to the party for a reply. The producer of this biopic replied that the poll panel awaiting the reply of the BJP before taking a call whether to allow the release of the biopic.
