The appointment of Mariluz is timely because starting next month Unspoken Smiles is planning to open the world’s first fully preventative community dental clinic in San Jose, Costa Rica. As a result, 365,799 people currently living in San Jose, which is roughly a third of Costa Rica’s total population, will now be able to get universal access to preventative dental care and avoid painful and costly procedures which can have a tremendous impact on their overall health.
