Upon relocating to the United States, he completed his residency at UT Southwestern Medical School. After his residency, he stayed at UT Southwestern to complete a fellowship in dermatopathology. Thereafter, he joined the faculty at UT Southwestern as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology. During this time, he also served as Staff Dermatologist for the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Dallas.
In addition to having co-authored a dermatology chapter in family practice textbooks and having published several articles in medical journals, Dr. Chaker is board-certified in both dermatology and dermatopathology by the American Board of Dermatology (ABD). The ABD is one of the 24 medical specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS).
