Using the latest technology, some of her endodontic treatments include mechanisms such as three-dimensional radiographs using a cone beam ct scan to use in difficult cases; operating microscope to identify hidden canals; electronic apex locator to reduce the number of X-rays; digital X-rays to reduce the radiation exposure; and on-site CBCT 3D imaging machine.
Originally from Pennsylvania, Dr. Tran studied at Villanova University before completing her dental school training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. While in dental school, she was in the Clinical Dentistry Honors Program, received the Vernon Brighten Research Scholarship, was an active member of the Oral Cancer Society, and volunteered her time in the community. In her fourth year, she was able to spend a month in Vietnam, where her family is originally from, to provide dental work for the underserved communities. She then relocated to New York for a General Practice Residency at NYU Lutheran Medical Center and obtained her Endodontic Certificate at the same hospital.
While in residency, she continued her passion for research and completed a study entitled “A study of the root canal morphology and its correlation between mandibular lateral teeth and mandibular first premolar teeth using cone-beam computed tomography in the Lutheran Medical Center population: A cross-sectional study.”
Currently, Dr. Tran is on her way to becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics, whose purpose is to assure the public that the endodontists it certifies have demonstrated exceptional knowledge, skill, and expertise in the specialty of endodontics and to progressively raise the quality of patient care.
Among her professional affiliations, she is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York County Dental Society, the New York State Dental Association, and the American Association of Endodontists.
Endodontics is the dental specialty concerned with the study and treatment of the dental pulp. Endodontists are highly skilled dental specialists in diagnosing and treating tooth pain and performing root canal treatment.
Outside of practicing dentistry, Dr. Tran loves to travel, go to museums and shows, read, try out new restaurants, and work out. An interesting fact about her is that she has finished the Brooklyn Half Marathon.
