According to recent reports, Dr. Anthony Fauci, a top US infectious diseases expert has called on China to release the medical records of those nine people whose ailments might provide some vital clues into whether Covid-19 has first emerged as the result of a lab break as reported by major news outlets on Thursday.

According to recent developments that have occurred Fauci has been reportedly quoted as saying he would first like to see the medical records of the three people who are reported to have got sick in 2019. He also asked that did they got sick and if so what did they get sick with?

The origin of the coronavirus is hotly contested as the US intelligence agencies are still examining the reports that the researchers at the Chinese virology laboratory in Wuhan were seriously ill in 2019 which is just a month before the first Covid-19 cases that were reported.

Nevertheless, the Chinese officials and scientists have consistently rejected the hypothesis of lab break and have said that the virus could have been circulating in other regions before it hit Wuhan and it might have entered China through wildlife trading or the shipments of imported frozen foods.

According to reports by some major media outlets, it is said that Fauci has continued to believe that the virus was first transmitted to humans through animals and it is pointed out that even if the lab researchers did have Covid- 19, they could have contracted the deadly disease from the wider population.
