(YorkPedia Editorial):- New York City, New York Aug 20, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – Dr. Eskandari is a board-certified family physician & geriatrician serving as the Medical Director of Shafa Medical Center in Foothill Ranch, California. Whether a patient is coming in for a simple checkup or a more complex treatment regimen, he and his dedicated team of health practitioners have the skills and resources to manage all health needs.
Having started his practice in 2010, Dr. Eskandari works as the primary care physician he has always dreamt about. He also continues to work as a geriatrician, taking care of patients in subacute rehab and nursing homes. He is one of the only few doctors who see patients at nursing homes or the patients’ houses and is involved in the care of homebound and hospice patients.
In his professional experience, he is the Medical Director for Lake Forest Nursing and Rehab Center, alongside being the Medical Director for Hospice Touch, which is a hospice company that takes care of the patients in the last 6 months of their lives. He is also the Medical Director of Unified Care Provider, a home health company where they have visiting nurses and physical therapists to take care of the patients at home.
Born and raised in Tehran, Iran, Dr. Eskandari studied medicine in Iran and then decided to continue his education in the United States of America. In the year 2008, he got his specialty in family medicine from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in New Jersey and then decided to move to the remarkably beautiful Orange County, California. There, he decided to sub-specialize in geriatric medicine at Kaiser Permanente to start helping the older population as well.
Following his training, he attained board certification in family medicine and geriatric medicine through the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). The ABFM is a non-profit, independent medical association of American physicians who practice in family medicine and its sub-specialties.
Licensed to practice medicine in California, Dr. Eskandari is affiliated with Mission Hospital Affiliated Physicians and Saddleback Medical Center.
Family medicine is a medical specialty devoted to comprehensive health care for people of all ages. The specialist is called a family physician or family doctor. A family physician is often the first person a patient sees when seeking healthcare services. They examine and treat patients with a wide range of conditions and refer those with serious ailments to a specialist or appropriate facility.
Geriatrics, or geriatric medicine, is a specialty that focuses on the health care of elderly people. It aims to promote health by preventing and treating diseases and disabilities in older adults. Geriatricians focus on maintaining patient well-being and independent functioning. They diagnose and treat conditions that may commonly occur with age.
On a more personal note, Dr. Eskandari speaks English and Farsi fluently, which allows him the ability to comfortably speak to and understand the needs of all of his patients.
