Treating a wide range of acute conditions or injuries in an emergency room, he serves as the Medical Director of the Emergency Department at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.
In regard to his educational background, Dr. Buckingham graduated with his medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in 1999. He then went on to perform his internship with Virginia Commonwealth University Health System in 2000, his residency in internal medicine at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2002, and his residency in emergency medicine at UAB Hospital in 2005.
Board-certified in emergency medicine, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM). The ABEM certifies emergency physicians who meet its educational, professional, and examination standards.
Teaching students, Dr. Buckingham serves as an Associate Professor within the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine.
