(YorkPedia Editorial):- Attleboro, Massachusetts Mar 29, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – The Royal Aeronautical Society, a London, UK-based institution dedicated to advancing the aviation, aerospace, and space sectors, has recently announced the election of George Charles Allen as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS).

Election to Fellow is the highest grade attainable and is awarded only to those who have made outstanding contributions, attained a position of high responsibility, and have demonstrated long experience of high quality in the profession of aeronautics.

The society recognizes Allen’s exceptional achievements, leadership, and commitment to advancing the art and science of aeronautics and space worldwide. With this distinction, he joins a prestigious group of individuals who have significantly contributed to the field.

“I am deeply honored to be elected as a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society,” Allen said. “The Society has been instrumental in promoting excellence in aerospace since its inception. I am proud to be recognized by such a venerable institution. I look forward to continuing to inform, educate, and inspire the next generation of aviation and space enthusiasts and professionals while striving to discover novel and effective ways to make significant advancements for the future of humanity in these creative, scientific, and professional endeavors.”

Established in 1866, the Royal Aeronautical Society is the world’s oldest institution leading developments in aeronautics and space by providing a central forum to share knowledge for the international advancement of the aeronautical arts, sciences, and engineering while promoting the highest professional standards.

The Society congratulates Allen on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to his continued contributions to the advancement of aeronautics.

Allen is an experienced aviator, award-winning aerospace educator, and second-generation professional flight instructor in the greater Boston area. Through his commitment to excellence and innovation, he has led family-owned AeroVenture to become the only flight school twice awarded the distinction as National Best Flight School of 1,447 by The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) — the world’s largest aviation association.

As a result of AeroVenture’s aviation and aerospace education programs, some of their most notable alumni have attended leading higher education institutions and landed positions with major airlines, corporate flight departments, and the military. One prodigious graduate serves NASA’s Mission Control at Houston as a Pilot (GN&C Engineer) of the International Space Station.

Allen’s passion for aviation education extends beyond AeroVenture.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI), the largest and oldest association representing flight instruction and serving members in the US and 35 countries.

He previously served on the AOPA Flight Training Advisory Board, where he played an essential role in shaping the future of flight training for the entire industry by providing insight and perspectives concerning training, hiring, marketing, management, strategy, and logistics of flight training and education.

In recognition of his leadership and excellence in aerospace education, George was awarded the Dr. Wendell G. Mohling Outstanding Aerospace Educator Award in 2018, presented by the National Science Teaching Association — the world’s most extensive professional science organization.

“Through his hard work and dedication, Mr. Allen makes a difference. He makes science come alive for his students and helps them realize the importance of science in their daily lives,” said NSTA President Dr. David Crowther.

Allen’s dedication to aviation safety is further evidenced by his Master Pilot designation awarded by the FAA Safety Team WINGS program, attesting to a superior commitment to aviation safety and supporting the highest principles of the FAA Safety Team.

Allen also earned a master of science in aeronautics and space — with distinction — from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, the world’s largest accredited university specializing in aviation and aerospace.

When not flying his classroom in the sky, George can be found playing chess with opponents across the globe, keeping up his skill as a classical pianist, reading voraciously, or seeking nautical adventures along the rocky coasts of New England.
