(YorkPedia Editorial):- Berlin, Germany Jan 30, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – Berlin, 31. January 2023, the Kickstarter project “Fensterkraftwerk” aims to create products to enable everybody to set up their own power generator on their window sill.
The project claims to have developed special solar panels which fit ideally on window sill and window reveals, a special mounting kit that can be attached without tools or drilling holes, a special combination box that can connect up to four solar modules, and a tiny micro grid tie inverter with up to 300Wp.
The smallest setup with 40Wp is capable to charge mobile phones and tablets, while the largest edition with 300Wp can generate up to 280 kWh per year, which can be a portion of 10%-20% of the yearly energy bill. A smart power meter allows monitoring the energy generation via an app.
Christian Richter, the founder of the project says: “Currently many people living in apartments without balconies and access to their roof, do not believe it is possible to harvest solar energy. But the “Fensterkraftwerk” (window power generator) shows that with a window in a sunny direction, it is possible to harvest 100Wp per window and it is possible to combine multiple windows to harvest more”.
The project still runs for roughly 14 days and seeks more backers. Each backer can choose a pledge of a window power generator of their preferred size.
On his YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1QZTxishYUV2EKlrZLP70Q Christian shows his window power generators in action and gives detailed background info on how they are built and attached to the windows.
Unfortunately, the Kickstarter page is currently mainly in german, but the project founder promised to deliver more English content in the next few days and weeks.
Backing the projects and receiving the pledges is currently only possible within the European union.
